Question: Can I install desktop memory inside my laptop?

Read our answer below:

The short answer is no. This can be explained by the fact that while desktops and laptops use the same memory technology (though there are some exceptions!), they do so via different types of memory modules. The only "Yes" answer to this question is if you have a really old laptop and desktop that supports memory on SIMM modules. The probability of this is however very slim and thus it's easiest to rememeber that "No", you cannot install desktop memory in laptops, or vice versa!
