Question: What are the risks if I choose to install my new laptop memory on my own?
Read our answer below:
Installing laptop memory is a fairly straightforward process to follow. The paramount thing you must remember is that equally your laptop (especially once you have exposed the inside of it) and laptop memory modules are sensitive devices and prone to static related damage. For this reason you should take care to discharge yourself of any static prior to (and ideally during) the installation. You can either wear an anti-static wristband or simply touch something made of metal.
